Go #24!!

TV Remote

Now where do you think you would find a missing tv remote? Not under or in the sofa. Not in the bathroom or kitchen. Not in the bedroom or under the bed. Not in the car or in the yard. Of course, its at the football practice field! When I told the grandson it was time to go to practice he turned off the tv and we left. I saw he had his helmet and pads in his hands but never noticed the remote. After we got home and his parents were searching for the remote granddaughter remembered seeing a remote that looked just like theirs beside the playing field where the players put on their pads and helmets. Megan and I drove back to the field hoping it wasn't locked up and with the help of the car headlights was able to find the remote. Grandson was in such a hurry he didn't put the remote down after turning off tv and didn't even think about the remote in his hand when he got ready to go on the field for practice. So if you ever loose your remote don't forget to check the practice field.

Whirlwind Week

This past week has been a whirlwind. One grand had surgery, one had stitches, my Aunt Lola died, a grand had a birthday party and another had a football game. Inbetween we were working on the cabin. The wiring and insulation is finished and part of the walls are up. We hope to finish the walls today along with painting them. SIL wants to start on the hardwood flooring this evening.
The birthday party was lots of fun. Especially popping balloons by hugging your partner!

The last scrimmage game was a tie. Grandson played a good game even with stitches. Next week the first real game of the season.
Grandma missed the best picture of the day. I was too busy yelling and shaking the camera in the air. Grandson caught the ball and trying to make a touchdown. Took 3 guys before they got him down. I was so proud but I think he would have liked it better if I had took the picture.

What Next?

Granddaughter is recovering nicely from her surgery though her stitches itch. Her dear brother got a little jealous of the balloons and flowers she got and decided to cut himself with a machete. Not really. He was jealous but the cutting part was an accident. He now has 5 stitches after sharpening the blade. His mom told him he couldn't take it outside without adult supervision so he sharpens it with she and I right here and ends up cutting his leg. I don't think this is how he wanted to get balloons and pizza though. I must say the grands have kept it from getting boring around here!

Granddaughter having a little pain but overall doing well. She says thank you very much for the prayers.

Thank You

For all the prayers. Granddaughter is back home and surgery went well. Her arm is sore but other than that she is fine. The 3 bumps were crystallized cysts. She will have to go back to get stitches removed but everything checked out.
Cabin is here!!! I can't do anything to the inside till the wiring, insulation and walls are in but I did do a little decorating on my porch.

Please say a prayer for my granddaughter. She is in surgery right now but hopefully will be home this afternoon. She has had 3 "bumps" on her arm for almost a year that don't heal. One of them if bumped burst open and bleeds. They have ran cultures and tests and aren't sure what they are. Doctor is cutting them out and we hope that will be the end. She is in good hands but prayers always help.
This morning my cabin is suppose to arrive!!! I am so excited. SIL's are going to start wiring this evening and hopefully in a few days Rusty and I will be enjoying our new home. Will take pictures when it arrives and post them later. Have a blessed day. Thank you again for your prayers . Without them I wouldn't be able to handle some days. Friends like you are truly a blessing.

Cabin Coming!

Cabin arrives Monday morning! Excited but wow what a busy day. Granddaughter has surgery at 7AM and the cabin arrives sometime that morning. It will all work out I am sure. Had the perfect visit from Corky and Milt. I am also blessed with some awesome things for the cabin. Megan has given me alot of items as well as taken me thriftstoring and yardsaling. We found some great items that will go perfectly in the cabin. I am hoping to give it a primitive/country look. At least in my mind it looks good. I was at Melody's for a few days while Rusty was at Megan's. He hid in the closest most of the time and they had to carry him outside to do his business. I came back today and he runs right to me and wouldn't get out of my lap. After giving him lots of loving I ask if he wanted to go outside and he dashed to the door and waited on me before rushing outside. He did his business and then walked around the yard with me. Back inside he is back in my lap. Can't wait to get settled in the cabin where he and I can be a happy little family. Grandson has a scrimmage game tomorrow evening. Megan has to work so I will be going with the family to watch. He is starting receiver and is so happy. Cheerleading granddaughter just got back from cheerleading camp where they won several blue ribbons and a trophy. Though they were middle grade they beat out all the high school teams for best dance routine. That just made her day! 2 of the grandsons are camping this weekend. 2 of the grands are at their other grandmas and the rest are home with their parents. I have been taking them to the river to swim and drop from the rope swing. I am so blessed to be able to spend some time with the grands. Its been a long time since I have had the time. All in all its been a great week even with the sad times that mixed themselves in. Have a blessed weekend !

Sorry

I haven't posted in a few days. I have been helping Megan. She is moving from her apartment to her house and DSL wasn't hooked up. I also have a new guy in my life! Hold on, its a four legged one! LOL I will post pictures of Rusty later when I remember where I put my camera. I also have photos of football practice, and the injuries some received while moving a sofa but they weren't mine. Am resting up at Melody's tonight as tomorrow I am volunteering with her at fill a bus. Each year her office gather donated school supplies and try to fill a bus so that as many children as possible have school supplies to start school. I am excited to be a part of it and hope we fill the bus full!! I will take pictures if they let me. Been thriftstoring and yardsaling with Megan and found some great things for the cabin. It should be delivered by Wednesday and then the fun of getting it all set up begins. I will absolutely take pictures as we work on it and when its all finished. Have a blessed weekend and I promise pictures soon!

Just Another Day

Yesterday was spent catching up on laundry and playing board games with 2 of the granddaughters. Grands are spread out everywhere. Some are spending night with each other, some are at a friends and then there is football practice and one at cheerleading camp. Takes a lot of energy just keeping up with kids these days! Today I have a housecleaning job that is way out in the country for a nurse friend of Megan's. Will be a beautiful ride that I will enjoy. Tonight is a date with grandsons, popcorn and Big Brother. Tomorrow I will be helping Megan dig holes for 20 trees and working more on her house remodeling. Have pintos in the crockpot. Seems like I don't have alot to do but time sure runs out on me before I finish! Have a blessed day!

I Am So Old!

Tonight was Bible School Commencement. I went to see what the grands had been doing all week. This little country church is where I went to Bible School every summer growing up. This is the church where I was a teacher and my daughters went to Bible School every summer growing up. Tonight I actually talked with some ladies that taught me in Bible School! I talked with kids that I taught in Bible School that are now grown and have kids in Bible School. And of course I had fun catching up with friends I went to Bible School with. It was such a wonderful evening. My son in law and grands had to wait awhile on me as each time I started to the car someone else came up to talk. It was a true coming back home experience and it felt perfect. Today was a very blessed day!

Saturday, August 1, 2009

Its been a busy week and weekend. Finished helping Megan with the inside remodeling. Next week we are planting trees and moving flower beds so they can build a front porch. Helped Melody and her family today finish stacking the split firewood and worked on the grandsons building. Did a few loads of laundry and enjoyed a pizza supper with the grands. Diva and the other goats all went to their new home today. Rowdy the guard dog went with them. I am glad as he would have grieved being away from the baby goats. Its sad but they are going to a loving home with lots more room to run and graze. Many have asked why I am no longer at the homestead. My husband and I have separated. Its a long private story but I am back where I grew up and also raised my daughters. I have come home to my mountains and though things are sad and hard each day God gives me many blessings I am thankful for. Hope you have a blessed weekend.
