Just Another Tuesday
Haven't forgotten to post, honest. Internet was down all yesterday afternoon until late evening. By then I was all settled down on the couch to watch a little TV and cuddle with Rusty. Granddaughter is back at school and feeling lots better. Grandson #1 and grandson #2 now have the H1N1. Melody took them to the doctor yesterday and they are isolated in their "boys den". Its a cabin like building where they have their video games, computer, Internet and TV along with their beds so I think they will not get bored. I checked on them after cleaning a house today and they were feeling okay. Don't think the worse has hit them yet. Troubles is doing a good job of training me to know when to let him outside and what to feed him when. He takes up one whole end of the couch stretching out so poor Rusty ends up in my lap though he seems to like that just fine. I will post pictures and more topics tomorrow if Internet is nice to me. Its time to go pick up grands from school. I am so enjoying this cooler weather! Wore a jacket this morning and it felt good. Now if winter snow would come and make me really happy!!

Internet Down
For a couple of days so I have alot of catching up to do on everyone's blog. Hope you are having a blessed weekend. Granddaughter is feeling lots better and so far none of us have came down with it. Raining again but no flooding. Football game cancelled so grandson is not happy. Will be back tomorrow with a post and pictures. Oh! Does anyone know where to get the song "Serenaded by Angels"?

This and That
Well one of my flood photos made the front page of the paper! Megan emailed the paper and news station with some of the pictures and the paper chose one. Franklin Press
Granddaughter had a rough day yesterday and had to go to emergency room last night. Her temp went up to 102.4 even an hour and half after taking Tylenol. She had a bad headache and said even her eyelids were hurting. They gave her medication for her headaches and said the worse should be over soon. She is still sleeping this morning so hopefully will feel better today.
Rusty and Troubles were so happy to see sunshine instead of rain yesterday. They spent most of the day just sitting in the sunshine.

Flood
The beautiful Lake Emory and Little Tennessee River that meet right beside us has flooded. We are stuck at home until the water goes down. Megan was the brave one and walked out through the flood almost waist high so she could go to work. The kids on our road have to walk out to catch a bus. They are all home including grandson. Gabby is feeling a little better though she still sounds terrible and has a bad headache. We are still wearing masks and using hand sanitizer. Troubles lived up to his name last night. He knocked my glasses and cellphone off the clothes chest, knocked the dvd's off the top of the tv, knocked my book off the end table. All because it was raining so hard I closed the window he likes to sit in. This took place around 2am so I wasn't very happy with him but its all picked up and he is now sitting in his window. Here are some photos of the road into the cabin and Megan's place. We are on a hill so are safe. Hopefully the water will go down today and we can get back to normal... whatever that is.
The guy driving this truck made several trips in and out to help bring people home. There are alot of cars sitting at the end of the road unable to get in.

Hello Troubles
I cleaned Rusty's former owners home Thursday and came home with Troubles! Dianne has 4 other cats and a poodle that keep her busy when she isn't working as nurse on the night shift. Her other cats are older and more relaxed. Troubles though you can't tell by the photos is always into something. I woke him to get these photos but will post more later of his mischief ways. He loves to climb. He loves to see what he can knock of tables, shelves, etc. He loves to box your hand if you are sitting and not petting him as he always climbs in any lap that is sitting. He and Rusty are use to each other though Rusty is a little miffed I am giving some of his attention to Troubles. Troubles even likes going on walks with us though I end up having to carry him back as he wants to try to wander and explore. I now have no room in bed to move. Rusty takes the back half and Troubles takes the front with me squeezed in the middle. Heaven forbide I move as they have to look and make sure the other hasn't moved over to their side. They actually smack each other if that happens! Yes, life at the cabin just got a little more interesting. Kinda nice having Troubles of a good kind.

H1N1
Granddaughter found out today she has the H1N1 flu. She is in isolation until Thursday so she is closed off in her room and the bathroom right outside her door. We cleaned and disinfected the house to hopefully keep everyone else from getting it. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. On a different note... Rusty and I have a new addition to our family. Will post more about that with photos tomorrow. Have a blessed day!

Maggie
Corky, who is a awesome homestead friend of mine mentioned I never talk about Maggie. I don't see Maggie as often which means I don't have as many stories to share. She is my oldest. She, her husband Brannon, and 2 daughters; Kristine and Raigun live in TN. They are in the long, stressful process of adopting a child. Raigun wants to be a big sister to a brother. Brannon is a awesome son in law. He always knows which movies I will or won't like. We share a passion for scary movies. I am very blessed to have Maggie for a daughter. She is smart, beautiful, kind and a loving mom. Here is my favorite photo of Maggie and Melody's children.

A Test
I was sent this in a email. Really hit home with me. How about you?
THE LORD'S TEST
I woke up this morning and knew today,
The sun would not be shining
and the clouds would be gray.
As I stepped outside,
Rain fell upon my head.
My car wouldn't start
so I walked to school instead.
I forgot all of my assignments
I failed all of my tests.
I dropped my head in disgust
and asked the Lord for one request.
"Lord, why is it
things won't go my way?'"
He gently replied,
"Dear child it is because
you didn't thank me yesterday.
I woke you up and enabled
you to see the sun again.
I gave you shelter,
protected your family and even let
you make a new friend.
I blessed you far
greater than I ever had before.
But you were too busy
to thank me once more.
You didn't feel sick
because I maintained your health.
You had money in your pocket
because I maintained your wealth.
You had shoes on you feet
and clothes to wear, too.
You had plenty of food to eat,
and what did you do?
You ignored me and went
about your tasks.
But when you wanted something
you never hesitated to ask.
I was there when you needed me
and this wasn't too long ago.
But when things started going your way,
it was me you did not know.
As if this weren't enough,
I provided your favorite luxuries.
This was something I didn't have
to do-they weren't even necessities.
And when it was time to get on your
knees and show your gratitude,
You decided after such a
fulfilling day, you weren't in the mood.
So I decided to
give you just a little test.
To show you how it would feel
to stop being blessed."
I began to realize what
the Lord was saying.
And when I got home, I fell
to my knees and started praying.
He said, "My child, you have
learned and you know I do forgive.
But remember this day
as long as you shall live.
I love filling your life with joy,
and your pain I'll alleviate it.
But just a simple thank you
would show how much you
appreciate it."

#4 Grandson Birthday
Here are the photos of the awesome party. They are backwards in order but I am too lazy to click and drag them in order. The diving for worms was in chocolate pudding for gummy worms. Egg toss into partners frying pan that had to stay on their head. They also had to pass a shaken up coke without their hands to the end of the line and the last person had to chug alug it. And of course the ever fun pop the balloon hug. Swimming and jumping on trampoline was enjoyed too. Ended the night with fireworks and marshmallow roast before they headed into their tents and the girls and I went to sleep in the cabin. A great birthday for a now 12 yr old grandson!
