Flood

The beautiful Lake Emory and Little Tennessee River that meet right beside us has flooded. We are stuck at home until the water goes down. Megan was the brave one and walked out through the flood almost waist high so she could go to work. The kids on our road have to walk out to catch a bus. They are all home including grandson. Gabby is feeling a little better though she still sounds terrible and has a bad headache. We are still wearing masks and using hand sanitizer. Troubles lived up to his name last night. He knocked my glasses and cellphone off the clothes chest, knocked the dvd's off the top of the tv, knocked my book off the end table. All because it was raining so hard I closed the window he likes to sit in. This took place around 2am so I wasn't very happy with him but its all picked up and he is now sitting in his window. Here are some photos of the road into the cabin and Megan's place. We are on a hill so are safe. Hopefully the water will go down today and we can get back to normal... whatever that is.
This is our road under water
If you look close you will see a young man pushing his bike with his little sister on the seat.
The guy driving this truck made several trips in and out to help bring people home. There are alot of cars sitting at the end of the road unable to get in.

Troubles says, "y'all brought me here and you've got floods and swine flu going on, I do have troubles."

Our rain has ceased for now and we are seeing bits of sunshine. Several roads here are also flooded. Fortunately we feel safe driving around again today.
Troubles sounds like our cat Ditto - he is always into something! It does keep life interesting???

Oh goodness! I am praying that the rain and flooding stop soon!
We are having high temps here in southern California and now a brush fire has broken out about 30 minutes from here...
All this crazy and destructive weather is a little frightening...
