Yesterday was a depressing day. Just couldn't seem to shake the feeling and had decided to stay home from the tree lighting service. Am so thankful Megan talked me into going! What a wonderful time we had. The shop window displays of old fashioned winter wonderland is next Friday night. All the shops will have live people dressed in old fashioned clothes. We will be going back for that for sure. But last night all the shops had beautiful Christmas displays.
We walked up and down main street window shopping and looking at the lights.
The town is built on top of a hill. I tried to take a photo looking down the hill but it didn't come out too well at night

While we were walking we found the mailbox for Santa's letters
And we even found the jolly ole man himself out and about
What other small town can you find a little waterfall in the middle of town.
Then it was almost time for the tree lighting

WOW, what a great place to live! Looks like the whole town really gets into it. Kind of remeinds me of Gilmore Girls, I absolutely love that show. Hope you are having a wonderful Saturday!!!

Glad you were up to going, because that sure will lift up depression---to keep on and keep busy. I realize this will be a challenging holiday, but thankfully the Lord has you tucked all safely in His hands.

Hi Peggy. Glad you got out to see this and are sharing the experience. What a wonderful start for Christmas. I am already sick of the "buy, buy, buy" commercials on TV. Beautiful window displays and carolers are much more to my liking.
Hi Peggy, Franklin is such a neat little city... I'm so glad you went to the special tree lighting. There's nothing better to help one get in the holiday spirit. Holidays can be fabulous times --but as you know, they can also be sad times. Just keep on hanging in there, Peggy... Your family will 'help' you celebrate.
