Count Your Blessings Monday

Time for Marci's Count Your Blessing Monday. I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends and daughters. They made my at first depressing weekend wonderful.

Dianne (a lady I clean for) called yesterday trying to find someone to take her 2 tickets to see The Nut Cracker. She was ill and really wanted to see the tickets used. At first I tried to help her find someone to take them as I was helping Melody with Christmas decorations and plans. After several phone calls and no luck finding anyone able to go Melody's husband told Melody and I to take the tickets and enjoy some time together. We did and we had a awesome time! The Charleston Ballet Company did a fantastic job and the scenery was breathtaking. I am so glad I went and very happy to have a chance to spend some one on one time with a daughter.
Friday night Megan's family and I went to the winter wonderland displays downtown. I remembered my camera but forgot the memory card! Never fear though they are doing it again this Friday and I will make sure to get photos. The store windows had people dressed old fashioned doing things of the past. There was a boot cobbler, basket weaver, spinner, tatter, etc. I loved each window! The streets had old fashioned carolers going up and down. There were old fashioned carriage rides. Each shop had hot cider or cocoa with cookies, candies and snacks, We practically ate our way up and down the streets. You could have free photos with Santa and his wife, with the Grinch and elves. It was truly a walk in winter wonderland and back in time. We only got a few flurries though one town over got 2 inches of snow. Even without snow it was a nice weekend thanks to friends and family.

Peggy,

It sounds like a lovely time. I'm glad you were able to have some one-on-one time with your daughter. I'm sure you enjoyed all the Christmas festivities you attended. Looking forward to the photos next week.

The book leaving in a couple of days is no problem and I'm sure Pea agrees. It still has lots of time to get to her before Christmas. I always set the date early because I know things can come up. I was delighted you took part in the Christmas book swap again this year and look forward to doing it again next year.

Wishing you a wonderful week.
Blessings,
Mary

I am so pleased you are having some wonderful weekends before Christmas. You even got to see The Nutcracker, that is pretty highbrow for a couple of hillbilly gals.

I hate forgetting the memory card. I have done it more than once. That happened to me on my weekend down south. I kept say I must find a store where I can buy one. Never did, so no pictures.

How nice, Peggy, for you to get to go to see the Nutcracker. It has been years since I saw it. That was nice of Dianne to ask you. Aren't there just some wonderful people in the world????

Glad you enjoyed the Winter Wonderland displays downtown. And I'm even more glad that you are going back so that you can take pictures. WOW!!!! Can't wait to see them.

Hugs,
Betsy

I took my MIL two years ago to see Nut Cracker as she had never seen it before or never been to the theater. She loved it too. What a wonderful Christmas thing to do, spend some alone time with your daughter :o)

Oh sis, don't you worry about sending my book swap a little late, you know I don't mind at all!! I'm the most patient person you'll ever meet:-) hehe

How I would love to go to the Winter Wonderland displays, it all sounds like it's so beautiful and being able to eat and drink your way through them doesn't sound too shabby either! lol I had never had apple cider before and Steve introduced me to it a couple of years ago..now I just love it, hot or cold:-) Love you! xoxox

Hello Peggy
Theres a green eyed monster sitting here as I love the ballet and would give anything to see The Nutcracker again. I'm so glad you were able to experience it - there are some very generous people out.
Like Pea I fancy the idea of being able to eat and drink in the middle of anything - and to have it on hand as you wandered around the streets was a fabulous idea.
You know even tho its be a traumatic time for you, I think you have sounded so much more at peace with the world since you returned to be nearer to your family.
Take care
Cathy

Obviously, your son-in-law is a treasure to nudge you two to play. What a wonderful treat!

Bless you.

Wow - what a neat thing, to get to go to a nice production of The Nutcracker! So happy you had a wonderful time. That's awesome. The store-windows thing sounds SO WONDERFUL! We have a lot of things that go on around here for Winter, but nothing as creative as that. Pretty neat.
